From the hills of Morgantown, WV, John Kolar is an indie artist with rock, pop, country, and jazz influences. John’s debut album “Color Blind” is a blend of various genres and was written, produced, recorded, and mixed by John.

With over 19,000 followers on Instagram and over 10,000 followers on TikTok, John regularly posts music theory, audio engineering, and music performance content that is both entertaining and educational.

John works as an audio engineering professor at Ball State University in Muncie, IN, where he teaches production, mixing, acoustics, electronics, and performance classes to undergraduate students in the School of Music. John’s teaching inspires his music, as mentoring his students to find their own musical voices helps him to find his own.

John enjoys growing vegetables in his garden and riding his bicycle without training wheels.
